10 Actors Who Regret Their Iconic Movie Roles

Actors don’t always like the iconic roles that make them famous. Also there are roles that have destroyed careers.

1.  Robert Pattinson – Twilight Saga.

Robert Pattinson’s most famous role is clearly that of Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” sagas. But the young actor has often said he’s not a fan of the series. He’s never really stated exactly why he doesn’t like it but once he was quoted saying: “He’s a 108 year-old virgin, so he’s obviously got some issues there.”

2. George Clooney – Batman & Robin.

George Clooney isn’t shy when it comes to talking about his performance as Batman in the 1997 “Batman & Robin.” He feels like he nearly destroyed the character for good, seeing how shockingly terrible the flick was.

3. Halle Berry – Catwoman.

At the start of the millennium, Halle Berry was one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood. She was on top of the world, but it seemed like it might all come crashing down when in 2004 she starred in “Catwoman”. The film was a huge bust and at one point it seemed like it had ruined her career.

At the Razzie Awards that year, Berry accepted her award by thanking Warner Bros. for “casting [her] in this piece-of-shit, God-awful movie.”

4. Michelle Pfeiffer – Grease 2.

Seeing how “Grease” took the world by storm and it’s songs are often the most quoted of movie music, Pfeiffer was very excited when she was cast for “Grease 2”, assuming it would be just as big a hit. Sadly, it was far from it, and till this day Pfeiffer hates being reminded of the movie, calling it a bad dream she wants to forget.

5. Ben Affleck – Daredevil.

Much like Halle Berry, Ben Affleck’s career was nearly ruined by a terrible superhero movie in the early 2000’s. His flop was “Daredevil, in which he played a blind superhero by that name. Ben has often bashed the film calling it a poorly made mistake.

6. Kate Winslet – Titanic.

This might come as a shock, but Kate Winslet has often voiced regret at her role in one of the highest grossing films of all time, “Titanic”. She says she’s just sick of people wanting to draw her like one of their French girls, after famously being depicted nude in the film.

7. Matt Damon – The Bourne Ultimatum.

Matt Damon doesn’t regret playing legendary character Jason Bourne, but what he does regret is the third film of the series, “The Bourne Ultimatum”. He’s called the script “unreadable” and talked about how much he hated it.

8. Katherine Heigl – Knocked Up.

After comedy “Knocked Up” came out, Katherine Heigl voiced her concern over how her role of Alison seemed extremely sexist. After the film’s release, she’s been a lot more picky with her roles in romantic comedies.

9. Shia LeBeouf – Transformers.

Shia LeBeouf is remembered for starring in the “Transformers” franchise, but the actor isn’t a fan. In fact, he doesn’t seem like a fan of any of his films, also slamming “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” and “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.”

10. Carrie Fisher – Star Wars.

Carrie Fisher is a Goddess to millions of “Star Wars” fans, but it turns out she doesn’t agree with them. She once said that “George Lucas ruined [her] life with his ridiculous costuming”. Guess she changed her mind since she is returning to her role in the upcoming “Star Wars” movie.
